Welcome to Girl With Curves- my personal style blog, offering outfit inspiration, style and shopping tips for the

everyday fashionista.

GWC Mission

Although I started GWC as a way to express my love for fashion and getting dressed, it has turned into much more than that-

it has become a mission for change.

I want to change lives through fashion, by promoting positive body-image, self-esteem and body-acceptance in the curvy community. Far too long has the plus size fashionista been left out of fashion, and made to think she can’t be fashionable. It’s time to create change, by making a statement that curves deserve style too!

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. When did you start Girl With Curves?

February 2011.

2. Who takes your photos? What kind of camera do you use?

My husband takes all photos with a Nikon D7000.

3. What ethnicity are you?  How about your husband?

I’m multi-racial.  My husband is Indian, from North India. (Click here to see some pics from our wedding, if you’re curious).

4. What products do you use for your curls?

Please refer to this post, which will tell you what I use, as well as my daily hair care routine.

5. How tall are you?

5’10”

6. What size are you?

In an effort to make a statement toward body-acceptance and not focusing on one’s size, but rather how one feels about oneself, I prefer not to publicize my clothing sizes. Society is much too obsessed with size and labels, and I choose to set an example, by not openly discussing mine.  I’ve been several different sizes in my life, and they’ve all been what is considered statistically average.

The most important thing for curvy girls of all sizes to remember, is dressing your body according to your shape will always help you look your best.

7. Where do you shop?

I shop everywhere- from Forever 21 to thrift stores, BCBG and Nordstrom.

Style isn’t based on the designer label you’re wearing- it’s all in the details of your outfit and how you make the look your own (but that’s just my opinion).

8. What did you study in school?

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English. I’m also a licensed Esthetician.

9. Where do you live?

San Francisco Bay Area.

10. What does c/o mean?

That I have received the item of my choice, compliments of the company listed.

11. Do you offer Advertising, Sponsored Posts, Giveaways, etc.?

I do!  Please email me your inquiry.
